Bird Island Lodge

Bird Island Lodge is located in Seychelles and is on an island of its own with all its natural splendour. The island is a nature reserve where hawksbill turtles nest between October and February. This is also the home to Esmeralda the largest free ranging tortoise in the world who is more than 200 years old. Bird Island is situated 60 miles from the main island of Mahe.

Bird Island Lodge offers its guest 24 individual bungalows which are located on the white beach of the small coral island (1500m long and 650m wide). Each bungalow is approximately 65sqm and is equipped with a king size bed, a bathroom, ceiling fan, lounge area and a terrace which overlooks the garden and the ocean.

The Lodge offers buffet style meals in an informal setting as well as a bar where you can get a pre-dinner refreshment. This area is a superb destination offering you plenty of relaxation with fantastic staff. You can relax on the patio while listening to the sounds of the birds and the majestic ocean.

During certain months of the year you can watch the turtles making their way to the large open ocean waters. The nature walks are given by a trained member of the Hotel staff, there are great fishing spots, boat trips, snorkeling, kayaking, the gorgeous stretch of beach to enjoy and table tennis.
